FAQ on Data Plan

What happens when you exceed the data limit?

Data transfer speed will be limited.
For Y!mobile and Softbank routers, the transfer speed will slow down. With auKDDI routers, data transfer will be stopped.
The data transfer speed will recover the following month.
There are no charges for data exceeding the limit.

How can I check the data usage?

Softbank routers show the data usage on the screen. For Y!mobile and auKDDI routers, please contact us by email or phone.
Make sure to give us your router number. e.g.) YMXX, auXX, etc

Roughly how much data will I need?

Watching a 1hr video on a smartphone will use approximately 1GB. For further details, click here.

When is the data usage reset?

Data usage is reset on the first day of every month.
Data transfer speeds will recover the following calendar month. However, if you would like faster speeds, please place an order for another device until the end of the month.

Rental Info

Rental Fees

You can rent our Wi-Fi routers by paying the rental fee.

There are no contract fees.

The rental fee is charged whether the router is used or not.

The rental fee includes the data plan.

To extend your rental, place an order online for rental extension.

To return the router after the due date, the late fee: 864 yen per day is required (au WiFi routers: 1,080 yen).

The fee for delivering and returning the rental items is 1,080 yen in total. This will be charged in addition to the rental fee.

For returning items, use the envelope enclosed with the router that you receive. The envelope is prepaid.

The rental period can not be shortened after shipment.

Rental Period

The start date for the rental period is the arrival date of the router.

Select an arrival date and time when you place the order.

The rental period starts on the selected arrival date even if the recipient is late in receiving the parcel for any personal reason.

To return the router, it must be posted before 8 AM the following day of the last day of the rental period.
* Any postbox in Japan can be used to send back rental items.

Responses for Weekends

Our store is closed on weekends and Japanese holidays.
Orders received during weekends or holidays are sent out that weekend or holiday if necessary, however inquiries made may not be answered until the following business day.
(No telephone support on weekends or holidays.)
You can pick up rental items at our store on weekends or holidays but only Japanese speaking staff will be available.

Pickup Service

To pick up your rental items at our store, we recommend that you order online in advance to have a device ready for you to pick up. Our business hours for pickup are 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM (weekdays only).

You can pick up rental items at an airport but only if an order is placed online in advance.
When an order is placed online in advance, the parcel is delivered to the airport a day earlier than the selected delivery date.

Payment

We only accept payment by credit cards.

The date of withdrawal from your bank account differs dipending on credit card companies.

A late fee is charged if the rental items are not renewed and not returned by the due date.

The late fee is charged to the customer's credit card.

If you would like a formal receipt, please request one in the remarks section on the order form.

Fault and Loss

When the customer damages the rental router or wets it in water because of his/her negligence, he/she shall be charged for the repair cost or the price of the item in accordance with the rental agreement.

For the loss of the rental router, the price of the item shall be charged regardless of any reason.

Insurance which will cover the repair costs in the event the rental products are damaged due to the customer's negligence is available.
In the event of a lost item, at least two-thirds of the replacement charge will be waived for an insured customer.
